Course Overview
The Global Diplomacy and International Relations course aims to improve the participants' ability to interpret and analyse the different political systems of the world as outcomes of path-dependent economic and political structures and developments. It also aims to deepen the participants' understanding of how the interactions among political systems have unfolded in the most important geopolitical settings, and of how they influence contemporary trends in challenging and answering the basic goals of political systems and human security. The course aims to equip professionals with the tools to analyze global issues such as international conflict, diplomacy, and economic development.

Explore the fundamental concepts and ideologies that shape global politics, such as realism, liberalism, and constructivism. - Module 2 (International Organizations and Global Governance)
Examine the function of international organizations such as the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and International Monetary Fund in preserving global order. - Module 3 - Geopolitics and World Power
Understand the roles of major countries and regional blocs, and how shifting alliances affect global stability. - Module 4, Conflict Resolution and Diplomacy
Learn about the negotiating and mediation procedures via case studies of international conflicts and peacebuilding attempts. - Module 5 (Global Challenges and International Policy)
Discuss key global concerns like climate change, inequality, and terrorism, as well as the role of diplomacy in dealing with them. - Module 6 - Human Rights and International Law
- Defining rights and law, state governments, sovereignty and international law, approaches based on religion, philosophy, political revolutions, civil movements, humanism and collective society
- Political rights, economic and social rights, collective rights
- Private and public international law, sources of law, treaties, UN charter, the United Nations, reasons for obeying international law
- International human rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, humanitarian Intervention, rights and conventions relating to refugees, the International Criminal Court, crimes against humanity, war crimes.
